Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program 

Indianhead Community Action Agency (ICAA) is a recognized leader for ending poverty and creating sustainable communities in Wisconsin’s rural areas. ICAA’s VA-funded Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program provides emergency housing for homeless veterans and their families, as well as financial assistance and case management to assist veterans and their families to build a strong foundation for their futures. The SSVF program fills a gap within the current veteran service ecosystem in rural, northern Wisconsin by providing services that homeless veterans and their families can rely on to gain financial independence after experiencing loss of housing. However, VA funding is limited by specific criteria that limits the assistance that can be provided to veteran households in need. This BWF funding will complement federal SSVF funding and will ensure 31 veterans who are homeless or on the verge of homelessness receive financial support for transportation related expenses, and temporary emergency housing.
