Vet Tech: Elevating Technology to End Veteran Homelessness

Pathways to Housing DC is a renowned homelessness services provider in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Since placing its first client into permanent housing nearly a decade ago, the organization has successfully ended chronic homelessness and supported recovery for more than 900 Washington residents. During the pandemic, the Washington, D.C. area saw an uptick in veteran homelessness, with the annual Point-in-Time count rising to 302 veterans in 2021. Without basic technology, veterans experiencing and recovering from homelessness struggle to consistently access resources that are critical to securing stable housing and other supportive services. Pathways to Housing DC’s Vet Tech program is designed to ensure that veterans have access to the technology necessary to receive housing, healthcare, and employment services. The goal of this grant is to improve the stability of 55 veterans in the Washington, D.C. area by increasing access to case management services for clients experiencing and/or at-risk of experiencing homelessness.
