On September 11th, 2001, we collectively watched in fear and horror as the world was changed forever by the worst terrorist attack in our nation’s history. That morning we lost family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors. This year, as we approach the 22nd anniversary of that tragic day, we invite you to gather with fellow members of the 9/11 community.

9/11 Partner Organizations
This year’s Community Day will feature an information session presented by the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program and the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the 9/11 Memorial Museum Education Center. This session will cover each of the programs' distinct missions, eligibility criteria, and enrollment processes. Partner organizations will be available to share resources and information in the Museum's Concourse Lobby.
Additionally, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum Collections team will be in the Museum's Concourse Lobby to answer your questions about donating to our collection. The Museum is actively accepting donations to the permanent collection. If you have objects, documents, images of a historical or commemorative nature, or a story to share that you believe might be of interest to the Museum, we invite you to speak to our collections team during this event. We kindly ask that you do not bring items for donation.
9/11 Memorial & Museum: New on View
We are pleased to announce the installation of a new exhibition case in Foundation Hall, near the Last Column. This case will contain items from our collection that detail the efforts of various agencies that responded to 9/11 and worked in the subsequent months. The first rotation will feature items from the New York City Department of Sanitation and the New York City Department of Correction.
As part of our dedication to this community, we are currently planning an installation that will speak to the toxic dust on 9/11, the subsequent health impacts on those in the disaster zone, and the years-long fight for health coverage.
Visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum
Earlier this year, in honor of the thousands who survived, risked their lives to save others, and have been impacted by 9/11-related illnesses and injuries, we announced an expanded complimentary ticketing program for visiting the Museum throughout the year. Complimentary Museum tickets are available to:
- Individuals eligible for the World Trade Center Health Program
- Immediate family members of those who have died from 9/11-related illnesses and injuries
- Any rescue and recovery workers who are a part of our registry.
Complimentary tickets are available throughout the year on a first come, first served basis.
As always, admission to the 9/11 Memorial Museum is complimentary for 9/11 family members.
22nd Anniversary of 9/11: Join Us on the Memorial Glade
Prior to the public opening of the Memorial on Monday, September 11th, we invite you to join us at 2:30 p.m. for a moment of tribute on the 9/11 Memorial Glade in honor of those who are sick or have died as a result of 9/11-related illness or injury. As we commemorate these individuals, we will also honor the courage of the 9/11 rescue, recovery, and relief workers and recognize the spirit and resilience of the survivors and members of the downtown community. Access to the Memorial will begin for this community at 2:00 p.m. We welcome you to lay tributes on the Glade’s stone monoliths at the conclusion of the tribute. Additional details will be included in the next communication.
