Generous Persson
Award Recipients

Each year the Bob Woodruff Foundation recognizes a small number of individuals for their inspirational leadership, commitment to change, and tireless advocacy on behalf of military veterans and their families by honoring them with the Generous Persson Award.

Honoring the legacy of Helen K. Persson

A lieutenant commander in the Navy Nurse Corps during World War II, it was Helen K. Persson’s initial gift that helped start the Bob Woodruff Foundation. Her generosity will have a lasting impact on those we continue to serve.
