Disabled Sports USA is launching the first ever Wheelchair Football League, thanks to a National Football League-Bob Woodruff Foundation Healthy Lifestyles and Creating Community (HLCC) grant. During the NFL Draft, April 23-25, a wheelchair football athlete will participate in making a team pick, marking the first milestone of many to come thanks to the NFL’s support of the Wheelchair Football League and DSUSA. The National Football League announced today that in collaboration with the National Football League Players Association, clubs, owners and players, more than $35 million has been donated to date, including $3.4 million from the NFL Foundation as part of the COVID-19 relief efforts.
