Bob Jeffrey retired as the Non-Executive Chairman of J. Walter Thompson, the world’s best-known marketing communications brand.
Jeffrey recently presided over J. Walter Thompson’s 150th anniversary celebrations, galvanizing the agency’s global network, clients and the industry around its pioneering history and culture of innovation.
During his 16-year tenure, including 11 years as Worldwide CEO, Jeffrey shepherded relationships with blue-chip global clients including Bayer, Ford, HSBC, Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, Kimberly–Clark, Macy’s, Nestlé, Nokia, Rolex, Royal Caribbean, Schick, Shell, Unilever, Vodafone and many others.
Jeffrey was widely recognized as the industry’s “Creative CEO” for his absolute focus on creativity during his tenure. J. Walter Thompson made history in 2013 by winning the first-ever Gold Lion awarded to Egypt for Vodafone’s “Fakka,” the most awarded piece of strategic work in the industry that year. And the agency’s work for Nestlé Kit Kat helped secure a pioneering achievement, as Time magazine named the confectionery brand one of the most influential candy bars of all time.
Jeffrey has been regarded as an ambassador of advertising, widely respected for his views and achievements. His knowledge of the industry led him to become a regular contributor to Fox Business Network, CNBC and CNN, as well as a frequent source of quotes for leading trade and business publications. He also hosted an original web series called “Worldmakers,” interviewing influencers and thought leaders from various industries across the globe. The show aired through LinkedIn’s Influencer program and on JWT’s YouTube channel. It has been featured in various media outlets including The Huffington Post, Marketing U.K. and HollywoodLife.com.
Jeffrey sits on the boards of the International Center of Photography, the Bob Woodruff Foundation and La Salle Academy.
