Mrs. Dawn Goldfein is married to General David L. Goldfein (RET), the 21st Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. She has accompanied her husband on 19 assignments around the globe, all while raising two daughters. Inspired by a call to serve, she has dedicated her life to supporting her family and the Airmen and families of the United States Air Force.
Mrs. Goldfein was a full-time volunteer supporting and advocating on behalf of military families and children. She is an avid supporter of military families through her service in many organizations, such as the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC), the Ambassador Committee for Easter Seals, the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), United Through Reading, United Services Organization (USO), and Thanks USA, to name a few. Additionally, she represented the Air Force as an Arlington Lady. In July 2020, Air University published Dawn’s book for spouses titled, “Sharing the Journey … A Military Spouse Perspective”. For her countless hours of service, Mrs. Goldfein was recognized with DoD’s highest awards for Distinguished Public Service from the Air Force, Joint Chiefs, and the Secretary of Defense.
Mrs. Goldfein has been married to her high school sweetheart since 1983. They have two daughters, one who is serving as a 3rd-generation officer in the USAF, and a second who is a 3rd-generation teacher. Both daughters are married to men the Goldfeins are honored to call sons-in-law. Dawn and Dave are now the proud grandparents of three granddaughters and a grandson who all reside in their home state of Texas.
