Edward Toptani practices law in New York City, where he focuses primarily on transactional and litigation matters pertaining to complex securities and derivatives, hedge funds, private finance and start-up ventures. He has also frequently serves as a commercial arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority. In addition, his pro-bono work includes providing advise to various non-profits, including the Kilimanjaro Education Fund, the NYPD Gaelic Football Club and the Cousteau Plant A Fish Foundation, for which he also serves as a board member. Previously, Mr. Toptani was associated with the international law firm of Shearman & Sterling, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, structured work-outs and highly leveraged transactions. He attended the University of Michigan, where he received his undergraduate degree (Magna Cum Laude) and law degree (With Honors).
