The Bob Woodruff Foundation Announces Board of Directors Class of 2021

The Bob Woodruff Foundation announces the election of three new members to its Board of Directors. Suni P. Harford, L. Thomas Hiltz, and Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Nadja West will join the Board effective January 2021.

“In 2020, the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Board of Directors helped steer our organization through a global health crisis, a difficult economic environment, and uncertainty about what the future holds,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation. “It is my honor and privilege to announce the addition of Nadja, Suni, and Tom to this esteemed and engaged group of leaders. The talent and experience that Nadja, Suni, and Tom each bring to our Board will benefit all veterans and military families as we turn the corner into 2021.”

is joining the Board of Directors from her previous position on the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Leadership Council. Suni is the President of UBS Asset Management and a member of the UBS Group Executive Board. UBS is one of the world’s largest asset managers with USD 980 billion in invested assets. Suni joined UBS in 2017 as the Head of Investments. She serves on the Board of The Optimus Foundation, is the executive sponsor of UBS’ Sustainable Finance Committee and is the co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Future Council on Investing. Prior to joining UBS, Suni worked at Citigroup for almost 25 years, most recently as the Regional Head of Markets for North America. She is a founding sponsor of Veterans on Wall Street.

is joining the Board of Directors from his previous position on the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s Leadership Council. Tom served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, Air Defense Artillery, in 1970 and 1971, after which he practiced law, having been admitted to the bar in Ohio and Kentucky. In addition to his legal career, Tom has extensive experience serving as a member of the Boards of Directors of Applied Industrial Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: AIT), The Drees Company, the Harold C. Schott Foundation, the Joseph J. Schott Foundation, Great American Financial Resources, Inc. (NYSE: GFR), The Cincinnati Art Museum, The Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Good Samaritan Hospital, Trihealth, Inc., and Kentucky National Bank, among others. Tom also serves as Vice-Chairman of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington, DC.

 is the 44th Army Surgeon General and the former Commanding General of the US Army Medical Command. She previously served as the Joint Staff Surgeon, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Support at US Army Medical Command, and the Commanding General of Europe Regional Medical Command. She holds degrees from the United States Military Academy (BS), George Washington University (MD), and the National War College (MS). Nadja serves as an Independent Director of the Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) and Tenet Healthcare Corporation (NYSE: THC). She is also a Trustee at the National Recreation Foundation, a Director at Americares, and a Trustee at Mount St. Mary’s University.
