Our 2024 Epic Backpacking Adventure will have us tackle thru-hiking 135 miles on the Northville-Placid Trail (NPT) over ten days. Covering 135 miles from Northville to Lake Placid, the NPT traverses some of the most remote regions of Adirondack Park. As we carve our way through this small section of the 6 million acre Forever Wild Forest Preserve, we will experience iconic Adirondack lakes, lean-tos, wildlife, forests as we forge memories and friendships to last a lifetime. This trek will be no easy feat but we will be here to help you prepare along the way.
The Epic Adventure Program is a collection of outings and training meant to prepare you to begin your own outdoors story. Participants of our Epic Adventure Program will receive:
– Classroom instruction
– Field training
– Wilderness First Aid certification
– A physical training plan
– Equipment
– An award patch issued by the Adirondack Mountain Club (once the trip is completed).
All major gear and food is provided. Participation for this outing is by application.
