The Bob Woodruff Foundation Got Your 6 Network is a diverse collection of national organizations with broad reach or locally based organizations, and those focused on a single area of expertise and need. With partners across the country, our growing Network reaches millions of veterans, service members, and their families where they live and work.

Through our Got Your 6 Network across all 50 states, American Samoa, Guam and Puerto Rico, our footprint of services is accessible to over 20.6 million veterans and uniformed military in communities across the country. This means that our services have the potential to reach almost 99% of veterans and uniformed service members nationwide.

But what does that mean, really?

Who Are Our Got Your 6 Network Partners?

The Bob Woodruff Foundation Got Your 6 Network partners are veteran-serving organizations: small and large, start-ups to established foundations, and volunteer run or staffed by a paid team. These organizations work to address the issues the military connected community faces.

Visit our Got Your 6 Network Directory, where you’ll be able to search for partners by location. We’ve included each partner’s website URL so you can discover the organizations in your community, that work in complementary areas, or who are involved in projects you’d like to know more about.

“One goal of our Got Your 6 Directory is to encourage connection between partners,” said our Director of Partner Engagement, Deirdre Armstrong. “The Directory invites Network partners to build awareness about one another—locally, nationwide, and across the globe in US territories.”

The Network is a membership organization, and we encourage you to apply to join.

What Are the Benefits of Joining?

“From the beginning, the Bob Woodruff Foundation imagined a network of organizations. The Network would be across the country, sharing resources and knowledge, helping address the issues veterans face—from hunger and housing to mental and physical health,” said Anne Marie Dougherty, CEO of the Bob Woodruff Foundation “That’s exactly what the Got Your 6 Network is today.”

We provide extensive resources for Network partners to help them build skills, grow their expertise, and expand their contacts. Benefits include:

The survey findings offer insights into service members’ and veterans’ needs across the country. It also highlights American communities’ ability and capacity to address those needs. We share these findings to inform the broader community of service providers, policymakers, and philanthropists.

What Does ‘Got Your 6’ Mean?

Got Your 6” means “we’ve got your back.” The military saying was coined in World War I by fighter pilots. They were referencing a pilot’s rear of the jet as the six o’clock position. It’s now a popular term that stands for the loyalty and cooperation found in the military community.

Our Network means just that. The Got Your 6 Network partners have the backs of the military-connected communities they serve, just as we have our partner’s backs.

The Got Your 6 Network is made possible with generous support from Craig Newmark Philanthropies.
