Schools Supporting Military Kids’ Mental Health Convening Report

In April 2023, the Bob Woodruff Foundation convened the Schools Supporting Military Kids’ Mental Health event in partnership with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and USAA. Our report highlights the importance of schools in supporting the mental health of military children. In it, we discuss key points including primary care provider limitations, proactive parent-child conversations, challenges in accessing mental health services, teacher advocacy and support, superintendent involvement, building community relationships, and implementing programs in schools. The report calls on school leaders to prioritize students’ mental health and implement our recommendations for a supportive environment.
